We should take the time to vote

Since I have been old enough to cast my ballot, back then it was 21, I have missed very few elections where I did not vote. Not only have I felt it a duty; I feel it is one of the freedoms that we enjoy as Americans.

Saturday is Election Day in Louisiana and LaSalle Parish, with voters having a lot of important decisions to make on who they want to serve them for the next four years. Races on the ballot range from governor and all statewide officers, to legislative races, sheriff, police jury races in nine wards, and four constitutional amendments.

The ballot is long and voters should go to the polling booth prepared. In this issue (on the front page) voters will find a listing of everything that will be on Saturday’s ballot. Also elsewhere in this issue, voters can also find sample ballots as they will appear on the voting machine.
