Cora Edna Griffin Gunn White, 88, passed from this life on Monday, January 6, 2020, at Plantation Oaks Nursing Center in Wisner.

She was born September 27, 1931 at Duty Ferry to the union of her parents, L. D. Griffin and Bessie Cassels Griffin.

Mrs. White was a member of the New Ouachita Baptist Church and her hobbies included reading, watching tennis, and she loved to play the piano. She was a legal secretary for Attorney Roger Reeves until her retirement.

She was a lovely person and will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9, from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. James King officiating.

Interment followed in the Rosefield Cemetery at Rosefield under arrangements by Riser Funeral Home of Columbia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, J. W. Gunn and Bill White; her brother, L. D. Griffin, Jr; her sister, Emily Doris McKee Oliveaux; and her grandson, Johnny Dewayne Gunn.

Left to cherish her memory are son, Johnny Gunn (Cindy); two brothers, Bennie Griffin (Anna Marie) and Billy Wayne Griffin (Kathlene); her grandchildren, Malissia Gunn, Tammy Norris (Derick), Kristina Rudd, Dustin Gunn, Heather Gunn, and Sloan Gunn (Ashley); nine great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Wanda Faul (Ronnie); and special friend, Vickie Griffin.

Pallbearers were Nathan Roark, Mike Ferrington, Ronnie Faul, Stanley Smith, Derick Norris and Cecil Griffin.

Honorary pallbearers included Lonnie “O.T.” Overturf and Joey Thibodeaux.
