Billy “Spooky” Reeder

Billy Eugene “Spooky” Reeder, Sr, 66, of Jena, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020.

He was born October 6, 1953 to Corbett and Jessie Reeder.

Spooky was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved being outdoors, and was a member of the Air Force and a Master Mason. He retired from the VA Medical Center after 25 years and spent the remainder of his time with family.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 6 at Summerville Baptist Church, with Rev. Jesse Henderson, officiating.

Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Jena under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.

He was preceded in death by his father, Corbett Reeder and mother, Jessie Boyd Reeder; his grandchildren, Taylor (Nikki) Poole, and Billy Eugene (Trey) Reeder III; his brothers, John Reeder and Russell Reeder.

He leaves behind two daughters and three sons, Jennifer Richardson (Kevin), Billy Reeder, Jr., Jacob Reeder (Nathalie), Michael Reeder (Glenda), and Rachal (Krissy) Reeder; two sisters and two brothers, Delores Cooper (Bob), Michael Reeder (Jackie), Darryl Reeder (LaRae), and Jackie Hooter (Clifford); 15 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

The Veterans Honor Guard served as pallbearers with honorary pallbearers being Greg Poole, Jr., Zackary Reeder, Nathaniel Reeder, Raymond Reeder, Abram Reeder, Daniel Nick, and Casey Smith.
