Lanual Dale Evans

Lanual Dale Evans, 70, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.

He was born February 3, 1949 in Ferriday to the union of his parents, Albert Pete Evans and Enola Arthur Evans.

Dale was a retired E3 Veteran of the United States Army from 1969-1971 and recipient of The Purple Heart and Oak Leaf Cluster for his services in Vietnam. He worked as a Mechanic at Windham Chevrolet for 28 years, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching LSU and Saints football.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 21, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Jena with Rev. Mickey Hudnall and Tommy Phillips officiating.

Interment with full military honors followed in the Heard Cemetery at Manifest under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tommy Joe Evans; and sister, Helen Bradford Viola.

Those left to cherish in his memory include his daughter, Taffy Sharp and husband James of Moore, OK; brothers, Marcus Evans, and George Evans, both of Harrisonburg; sisters, Sandy Ramsey of Jonesville, Linda McMillin of Jena, and Patsy Dickerson of Harrisonburg; three grandsons, Ryan, Brad, and Wade; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Max Evans, Richard Jacks, Danny Humphries, Chad Evans, Leslie Ray Humphries, and Wade Sharp.

Honorary pallbearers were Butch Hawks, Brad Sharp, and Ryan Sharp.
