Mae Elizabeth Joy

Mae Elizabeth Joy, 85, of the Rhinehart Community, passed from this life on Thursday, Feburary 6, 2020, in her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 6, 1935 in Jena to the union of her parents, Bennie L. and Beulah Jeter Coon.

Ms. Mae was a bright spirited soul that enjoyed life and certainly loved the Lord.

She spent her working career in the Dietary Field of LaSalle Parish School System. She enjoyed reading the Bible, as she had read it through many times, her cat, and certainly her family. She was an individual that loved everyone. She will be greatly missed by all who opportunity to meet her.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 11, at Christ Temple Pentecostal Church in Jena with the Revs. Zach Wells, Bryan Taylor, Larry Chapman, and Lamar Joy officiating.

Interment followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery of Rhinehart under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Lamar Joy and wife Michelle, and Donald Joy and wife Betty; two daughters, Merica Chapman and husband Larry, and Susan Sharp.

She was preceded in death by her late husband Frank Joy, Sr; her parents; and one son, Frank Joy, Jr.

Pallbearers were Chris Joy, Paul Joy, Michael Joy, Darren Wiley, Brad Elliott, Spencer Evans, and Michael Enterkin.

Honorary pallbearers were Rev. Greg Coon, Gary Malcolm, Jay Joy, Robert Joy, and Matt Foster.
