First Giants playoff win in 20 years!

Twenty years ago the Giants traveled to Patterson, Louisiana and defeated the Patterson Lumberjacks in the first round of the class 3A state basketball playoffs. That would be the last time a Jena Giants men’s basketball team won a playoff.

This past Friday night the Giants went into the playoffs as the #6 seed after finishing the regular season with a 26-5 record and winning the district 3-3A championship. The Giants would host a familiar foe as the #27 Caldwell Spartans came to town.

The Giants defeated Caldwell twice during the regular season as they won 62-55 at Caldwell and 73-50 at home.
