O’neal Adams

O’neal Adams

Marshall O’neal “Kojak” Adams, 67, of Olla, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020, in his home surrounded by his loved ones according to his wishes.

O’neal was born December 5, 1952 in Urania, the son of Tolbert Marshall Adams and Marie Callender Adams.

His family and friends called him O’neal, Big O, Pickle, and his trucking buddies knew him as Kojak.

O’neal was a lifetime truck driver and owner operator after serving his country in the United States Army and touring in Bamburg, Germany.

He will be sadly missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sandra Adams Foley and husband Loren Lee; a sister, Esther Adams Brazell; and a brother-in-law, Jeffery Allen Ratcliff.

He is survived by his brother, Louis Adams and wife Debbie Kennon Adams of Olla; a sister, Tina Ratcliff of Olla; a sister, Mary “Kim” Adams Belbey and husband David of Ragley; a sister, Toby Adams Sellers and husband Greg of Grayson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He loved motorcycles, but especially loved all things trucking, and nothing gave him more joy than to pilot that big yellow “large car” down the highway.

O’neal wasn’t impressed by fancy things, and didn’t want a fancy funeral, requesting that family and friends gather together and share memories.

In honoring his wishes, the family chose to have O’neal cremated.

A memorial service was held Saturday, March 7, at 11:00 A.M.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
