Looking closely at the shutdown

For more than six weeks we have been in a shutdown mode and last week, our governor extended that shutdown for another two weeks, until the middle of May. Some communities, like LaSalle, has had enough. It’s time to get back to living.

Not everyone agreed with the governor’s decision, including many members of the legislature. In fact, we understand, that legislators were told that Edwards would lift the stay-at-home order on May 1st. That did not happen, which has caused a stir among lawmakers, other officials, and citizens of the state.

As Stephen Waguespack, President of LABI noted, we are obviously disappointed with the decision.
