Some sports resuming in LaSalle Parish

With the announcement last week of Governor Edwards lifting his Stay at Home order and ushering the state into Phase One of the complete reopening process, some sports in LaSalle Parish have already made plans to start back up including summer high school football practices.

The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) released guidelines for schools across the state last week to use for approved summer workout schedules as coaches prepare for the upcoming fall season.

“From what we understand, teams will be allowed to begin summer training on June 8,” Jena Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Jay Roark said. “If we are still in Phase One, 10 people can be in the facility at one time which is requiring us to do some major adjusting to our scheduling.”
