Andy Pedneau

Andy Pedneau

Andrew “Andy” Pedneau, 48, of Jena, passed from this life into the portals of Glory on Sunday, May 24, 2020 in his residence.

Andy, as he was affectionately known to everyone, was born May 3, 1972 in Corpus Christi, Texas, to the union of his parents, Alfred and Ada Loudon Pedneau.

If you knew anything about Andrew you knew that he loved the Lord, loved Christian music, and he loved to help people. He had a heart of gold and would do anything he could to help someone in need. He was a mental health professional by trade, but if you had any dealings with him you would know it was more of a calling than a job for him.

Andrew was a faithful member of Unity Baptist Church of Pineville where he served as a deacon, “The Sound Man”, and also served with the children and youth ministries. You would find Andrew most often in the kitchen doing what he loved, and that was cooking for the children and the youth of the church.

He also loved and enjoyed mission work. He only had the chance to visit Malawi, Africa on one occasion but part of his heart was always with his brothers and sisters there. He was a mason and past Master of Solomon Lodge 221 of Pineville and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 28, in the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home in Jena with Rev. Ron Nation and Matt Mallette officiating.

Interment followed in Woodland Cemetery, east of Jena, under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Amy Hughart Pedneau of Jena; one brother, Alfred Pedneau of Pineville; one sister, Adrianne Pedneau of Pineville; mother-in-law, Sybil Hughart, who loved him like her own son, of Jena; brother-in-law, Chris Hughart and wife Amanda of Jena; his niece and nephew, Cara and Carson Hughart of Jena; along with his “Adopted” parents, Rev. Ron and Kathy Nation of Dry Prong.

Pallbearers were Chris Hughart, Joe Peppers, Cory Dotson, L.J. Wilson, Casey Dotson, Blake Dotson, Micah Murrell, Brent Nation, and Ben Howard.
