Willie Mae Gough

Willie Mae Gough, 87, of Olla, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, September 10, 2020, at the Hilltop Nursing Center in Pineville, after a brave battle with alzheimers.

She was born September 3, 1933 in Bude, Mississippi, to the union of her parents, Jud M. Lincecum and Mary Fance Arnold Lincecum.

Mrs. Willie was a member of the Olla First Baptist Church for many years and she dearly loved her church family. She was a faithful member who was very active until her health prevented her from attending.

She was famous for her delicious tea cakes that she baked for family, friends and church meals. She had a gift for serving others and was always looking for ways to help other people.

Her family was the most important thing in the world to her and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.

Services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 12, from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with Rev. Johnnie Phillips officiating.

Interment followed in the Urania Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla/ Columbia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Barron Gough; and her brother, Glyn Ray Lincecum.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Marilyn Pennington (Shane); her grandchildren, Timothy Escalon, II, Kori Escalon and Cody Elliott; great-grandchild, Natalie Kirkland; and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Timothy Escalon, II, Kori Escalon, Cody Elliott, Mark Simpson, and John Perkins.
