Jena resident Donna Miller was pleasantly surprised to see her late husband’s photo published recently in his favorite catalog, Toys & Joys.

The late Raymond Miller was a skilled woodworker and artisan, who had a passion for crafting wooden toys, sometimes for specific people and others to sell at events and through his Facebook page, Treasures by Raymond Miller. He passed away in late August.

“He submitted the photo several months ago, maybe it was even the first of the year. They only put out the catalog once or twice a year,” Donna Miller said of the published photo of her husband holding a model Louisiana State Trooper suburban. “He actually ordered a plan for a suburban and had to adjust the plans to look like the state trooper vehicle. He would watch for them when he passed one on the road or would pull up beside one to get the features correct. We also had pictures of Mrs. Linda Vacula’s unit, which is who he made it for.”
