Annie Ruth Womack

Annie Ruth Womack, 87, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at LaSalle General Hospital of Jena.

She was born Saturday, March 25, 1933 in Columbia to the union of her parents, Alden and Louise Webb. She was a resident of Jonesville and member of Jonesville First Baptist Church.

Ann embraced life head on. She was resilient when she needed to be but always gracious, fun and caring. She loved her family but allowed her friends to feel like family. She played an integral role in the lives of her family from the youngest to the oldest. Ann enjoyed the company of her Sunday School class and regular gatherings with the Golden Girls. She was an avid reader and gardener. Ann will be missed by all.

Services were held at 3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6, at Jonesville First Baptist Church with the Revs. Todd Whittington and Gary Norris officiating.

Interment followed in Heard Cemetery of Manifest under direction of Young’s Funeral Home of Jonesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, M. T. “Huey” Womack; son, Cleveland Webb Womack; granddaughter, Courtney Scott McGuffee; brother, Scott Alden Webb; brothers-in-law, George C. Womack and J. G. Womack; sister-in-law, Doris Womack Willis; great grandson, Brooks Clay McGuffee; and niece, Kathy Womack Knicely.

Survivors include her daughter, Janie Cater and husband Howard of Harrisonburg; son, Bill Womack and wife Jan of Manifest; daughter-in-law, Deborah Womack of Manifest; sister-in-law, Alma Womack of Smithland; granddaughters, Cari Ann Nicholson and husband Nick, and Gretchen Bacon and husband Terry, all of Manifest; grandsons, John Womack and wife Tonya of Wallace Ridge, Wesley Womack and wife Stephanie of Monterey, Clay McGuffee and wife Mistin of Harrisonburg, Jake Womack and wife Rebecca of Manifest, and Cleveland Webb Womack, II, and wife Megan of Lafayette; step-granddaughter, Laurel Crouch and husband Larry of Monterey; step-grandson, Lee Cater and wife Staci of Harrisonburg; 15 great grandchildren, one great grandchild and five nieces.

Pallbearers were John Womack, Wesley Womack, Jake Womack, Clay McGuffee, Webb Womack, Nick Nicholson, Terry Bacon and Hunter Nicholson.

Honorary pallbearers were Lee Cater and Larry Crouch.
