Girl Scouts kick off annual cookie sales

Girl Scouts this year are selling cookies in creative, socially distant, and contact-free ways to keep themselves and their customers safe. Even in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, girls at Girl Scouts of Louisiana – Pines to the Gulf (GSLPG) are adapting their sales methods to share the joy of Girl Scout Cookies through the largest girl-led entrepreneurship program—including taking contact-free pickup and delivery orders through a new national collaboration with Grubhub.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program has long taught girls how to run a business via in-person booths, door-to-door activity, and the Digital Cookie® platform online, which GSUSA launched in 2014. Though things may look a little different this year, girls are finding innovative ways to continue supplying cookies to customers.

“Girls and families are making decisions on how they want to safely participate in the cookie program this year,” said Amaris Harris, GSLPG Marketing & Communications Director. “The Digital Cookie platform is very popular this year as it allows customers to safely order and pay for cookies online and either have them shipped to their homes or through contactless delivery from a Girl Scout.”
