I am blessed

I am blessed

I got the scare of my life last Thursday night. I had taken my second covid vaccine shortly after noon and the nurse practitioner told me I could expect some aching, and feeling run down over the next couple of days, and not be be alarmed.

She suggested I go home and relax for the remainder of the day and “just chill out”! I had a couple of things I needed to do at the office, so I ran back, finished the tasks and by 3 p.m. I was home in my recliner, covered to make me toasty warm, and I fell asleep.

When I awoke, I found Bonita in the kitchen preparing me a feast fit for a king. Of course, the first thing I wanted to know was if the nurse practitioner had called and shared some bad news with her that she did not share with me.

She assured me that this was not the case, but that since she was going to be extremely busy Friday and Saturday, she decided to cook my Valentine meal early. And it was everything a man could have wanted - steak, potatoes, peas, devil eggs, carrots, radishes and a fresh baked roll. To top that off, she had baked my favorite cake.
