The ninth annual Whitetails Unlimited LaSalle Area Ban-quet, held Thursday, February 4, 2021, at the Community Center (former Jena Fair Barn) in Jena, was very successful, according to Elvis Ray Phillips, Sr, Louisiana Field Director for Whitetails Unlimited.

This special event featured raffles, games, silent auction, and live auction, as well as dinner served by the crew from the Brisket House in Jena. Over 200 people attended the event, with $40,000 gross raised.

Over the past six years, the LaSalle Chapter of Whitetails Unlimited has been able to fund several projects in the parish, totaling more than $25,000. Among those projects are: Scholarships to LaSalle graduates; LaSalle Parish 4-H Shooting Sports; LaSalle Parish Archery in School Program; LaSalle Parish Dixie Youth Sports; and LaSalle Handicapped Children/Veteran hunts.

Phillips issued a special thanks to everyone that attends the banquet on a yearly basis and supports the mission of promoting the hunting heritage and tradition for future generations.
