Jeanette Joan Richardson Brown, 68, of Jena, passed from this life on Thursday, October 24, 2013 in Alexandria. She was born on Thursday, November 16, 1944 in Jena to the union of her parents, Homer Lee Richardson, Sr. and Ruby Jewel Crawford Richardson. She was a homemaker. Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 27, in the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Stephen Richardson and Mike Russell officiating. Interment followed in the Belah Cemetery under direction of Kinner and Stevens, Inc. of Jena. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Johnny Norris. Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Jesse R. Brown; two sons, Jerry Glen Norris and wife Debbie and Jeff Norris and wife Jessica Vega; two brothers, Homer “BoBo” Richardson, Jr. and wife Lynn, and Stephen Richardson and wife Annette. Pallbearers were Dameon Dozier, Jeremy Norris, Jamie Norris, Justin Norris, Chris Humphries, and Bobby Strozier.

Felton O. McDonald

Felton O. McDonald, 86, of Homer and a former resident of Jena, entered into rest Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy illness. He was born October 30, 1926 in Antioch to the union of his parents, Jewell Clayton and Fannie Maude Nichols McDonald. Felton was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre before being honorably discharged in 1946.

Pergie Brooks Bradford

Pergie Brooks Bradford, 97, of the French Fork community, passed from this life on Friday, October 11, 2013, at the Jena Nursing and Rehab Center in Jena. She was born February 26, 1916 in Alarka Creek near Bryson City, North Carolina, to the union of her parents, James Harrison and Hattie Victoria Barker Brooks. Her early years were spent in the mountains of western North Carolina of which she often recalled fondly.
