Lois Marie Poole

Lois Marie Poole, 86, of Aimwell, passed from this life on Saturday, February 3, 2018, in Arcadia. She was born on April 16, 1931 in Byhila, Mississippi, to the union of her parents, William H. and Vera Hart Jenkins. Mrs. Poole was a retired bus driver for the Catahoula Parish School System. Services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 5, at the Aimwell Baptist Church with the Revs. Bobby McGuire and Jeffrey Goodman officiating. Interment followed in the Randall Cemetery of Aimwell under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. She was preceded in death by her husband, Moses Poole; her parents; and a sister, Polly Ford Terrell.

Richard Ed Hudnall

Richard Ed Hudnall, 36, of Jena, passed from this life on Monday, January 29, 2018, from injuries he received in a traffic accident near Tallulah. He was born November 13, 1981 in Urania. Richard was an equipment operator for Chess Drilling. Services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 31, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Kent Hatfield officiating. Interment followed in the Tidwell Landing Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Hudnall and sister, Stacy Hudnall. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Waylon Hudnall, Brandon Brown, and Tristen Walker, all of Sandy Lake; daughter, Ava Walker of Sandy Lake; mother, Delba Harris Hudnall of Jena; brother, Chad Morris and wife Mindy of Sandy Lake; sisters, Misty Hudnall of Olla, Cealie Hudnall Ingle and husband John of Jena, and Kim Hudnall of Jena; and a host of neices and nephews.

Robert Heimbach

Robert Dale Heimbach, 68, of Pollock, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in Riverside Hospital. He was born October 17, 1949. Robert was a United States Marine Corp veteran, who proudly served his country in Vietnam. He was a truck driver for thirteen and a half years before becoming a police officer with the Pineville Police Department. He served the citizens of Pineville for sixteen and a half years before retiring. Robert enjoyed riding motorcycles, listening to music and hunting. Robert was also a gunsmith and enjoyed woodworking. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Robert was a member of the D.A.V., V.F.W. and the American Legion. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, at Rush Funeral Home of Pineville. Interment followed in the Eden Cemetery, east of Jena, under direction of Rush Funeral Home of Pineville.

Jarred Randall Brian

Jarred Randall Brian, 32, of West Monroe, and formerly of Jena, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in New Orleans. He was born January 22, 1986 in Alexandria to the union of his parents, Randall and Lori Allien Brian. Jarred was employed as a chef in a restaurant in New Orleans. Services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 27, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Terry Townsend and Tom Lowe officiating. Interment followed in the Jena Cemetery, east of Jena, under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc., of Jena. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Buddy Brian; and maternal grandmother, Anne Carraway Allien.

Larry Wayne Boothe

Larry Wayne Boothe, 69, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, in Jonesville. He was born Thursday, August 26, 1948 to the union of his parents, C. C. Boothe and Audrey Bass Boothe. Services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 26, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in the Sandy Lake Community with the Revs. Jack Knapp and Curtis Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Joe Boothe Cemetery under direction of Young’s Funeral Home of Jonesville. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Todd Israel Boothe; two sisters, Cecila Boothe and Carlene Allgood; and nephew, Jubal Lee Burnette. Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Boothe of Jonesville; five grandchildren, Shayne Lee McCormack and wife Christy of West Monroe, Jessica Edwards Kratzer and husband Caleb of Jonesville, Larramy “Dumpling” Boothe of Harrisonburg, Kristin Townsend and husband Ray, Jr.

Danny Joe Ratcliff

Danny Joe Ratcliff, 67, of Jena, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at his home.

He was born November 4, 1950 in Jena to the union of his parents, Julian and Sybel Faulk Ratcliff.

Danny was a machinist and was employed by Dresser Valve Company for some 20-plus years. He loved to hunt, fish and garden.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 19, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Belah with Rev. Bill Robertson officiating.

Interment followed in the Belah Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Bobby Ratcliff.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Barbara Ratcliff; sons, William Ratcliff and Rad Ratcliff, both of Belah; step-daughter, Laura Arnold of Columbia; brother, Larry W. Ratcliff of Jena; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Anaise Eva Poole, 76, of Jena, passed from this life on Saturday, January 20, 2018, in Jena.

She was born April 25, 1941 in Pass Christian, Mississippi, to the union of her parents, Robert and Annie Mae Goins Devaux.

Anaise was retired from Midstate Home Health as a CNA.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 23, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Terry Doughty officiating.

Interment followed in the Rosefield Cemetery at Rosefield under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Poole, brothers, Robert Devaux, Jr., and Patrick Devaux; sisters, Dola Cuevas, and Patricia Netherland; and her parents.

Leslye Parker, 91, of Jena, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at her home.

She was born February 22, 1926 to the union of her parents, Robert Lee and Floria Estelle Valentine Fairbanks.

Mrs. Parker was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 24, at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Devillier and Brother Paul Daily officiating.

Interment will follow in the Belah Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 24, until time of the service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, R. M. Parker, Jr.; brothers, Gerald Fairbanks, Lester Fairbanks, and Thurman Ward; and sister, Theresa Jones.

Milton “Buck” Knapp

Milton “Buck” Murray Knapp, 70, of Jena, passed from this life on Friday, January 19, 2018, at the LaSalle General Hospital of Jena.

He was born April 2, 1947 in Alexandria to the union of his parents, Murray and Vera Christine Hudson Knapp.

He was employed as a tong operator in the logging industry.

Services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 22, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Johnnie Phillips and Mike Boyd officiating.

Interment followed in the Friendship Cemetery near Pollock under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Calvin Earl Knapp; and his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters, Patsy Boyd of Jena and Arlene Hudson of Pollock.

Pallbearers were Patrick Jones, Christopher Taylor, Danny Jones, Derek Keene, T-Bo Taylor, Darren Jones, Jimmy Chapman, and Austin Jones.

James L. Doughty

James Lavel Doughty, 89, of Jena, passed from this life on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe.

He was born October 14, 1928 in Jena to the union of his parents, Owen and Marie Davis Doughty.

James served his country in the United States Navy and was an Engineer for Rockwell International.

Services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan.16, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Joey Paul and Gary Davidson officiating.

Interment followed in the Tidwell Landing Cemetery in Nebo under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Jones Doughty; his parents; and brothers, Donald R. Doughty and Stanley Malcomb.
