2014 Jena Junior High Giants ends season as undefeated League Champs

The 2014 Jena Jr. High football team came into this season with a chip on their shoulder after finishing last season 5-1 and 2nd place in league play. Last season the Giants’ only loss was on the road at Franklin Parish, a team that went undefeated and won the league. This year the Giants’ goal was to not let that happen again and to go undefeated.

The 2014 Jena Junior High Football Team were recently named League Champions for the first time since 2006 and for the first time in approximately 20 years the team has gone undefeated.

Jena Giants lose a heartbreaker to Buckeye 31-28 at homecoming

The Jena Giants played in their annual homecoming game this past Friday as they welcomed the Buckeye Panthers into Guy Campbell Memorial Stadium. The Panthers came in with a 6-1 overall and 2-0 district record and were
the favorites to win the district 3-3A title. The Giants came in with a 4-3 overall and 1-1 district record.

It was senior night in Olla this past Friday night and Montgomery was in town for a huge district matchup. The senior class of 2015 was honored at the 50-yard line along with their parents and siblings for years of hard work and dedication.

Jena ten-year-old All-Stars go to state

Jena – It was a great summer for Dixie youth baseball and our 10-year-old boy’s All- Star team was ready to play. Donnie Valentine, Craig Littleton, and Rodney Phillips coached the Team. This is the group of boys that when 
they were 7-8 years old they qualified for the Dixie youth world series in Searcy, Arkansas

LaSalle Tigers even district record with homecoming victory on Friday

The Tiger fans filled the gym earlier in the day last Friday for the presentation  of our beautiful homecoming maids and their escorts. There was standing room only as Dr. Sheila King welcomed Alumni from the distinguished 
classes of ‘54, ‘64, ‘74, ‘84, ‘94, ‘04 and ‘14 to our campus.

Giants lose tough one at home to Avoyelles 36-28

The Avoyelles Mustangs came to town this past Friday to take on the Jena Giants in another district 3-3A contest. The Mustangs annually have one of the best offenses in the state of Louisiana and this year was no different

Jena Giants open district play with huge win at Vidalia, 42-8

The Jena Giants started district play this past Friday as they traveled to Vidalia to take on the Vikings. The Giants came into the game with a 3-2 record while Vidalia came in winless on the season. The Giants came in with a 3 game
win streak over the Vikings in their last 3 meetings. Both teams were looking to start off district play with a win and have some good momentum going their way during district play.

LaSalle falls to Logansport in first conference contest

Once again for the Tigers they leave for a long road game and there is just no easy way to get to Logansport. As for the game itself it was a tale of two halves for the LaSalle Tigers.  The first half of the game had LaSalle leading Logansport, 14 to 6, and playing well on both sides of the ball

Jena Giants lose a tough one at Delhi Charter 30-20

The 3-1 Jena Giants traveled to Delhi to take on the 4-0 Delhi Charter Gators this past Friday night. The Giants came in on a 3 game winning streak and were looking to enter district play on a high note. The Gators were looking 
to stay undefeated going into district play. Last season Delhi Charter ruined Jena’s homecoming by defeating the Giants 30-14.
