Over the years as a reporter, I have sat through numerous criminal trials in 28th Judicial District Court. But it has been a long time since I had the opportunity to sit through a trial, but made time last week for a double murder trial.

Randy Eugene Waits, 40, was on trial for the murder of Patsy Irmalene Cotten, 73, and Kylie King Duncan, 19, all of Urania. The body of Cotten was found around noon on April 22, 2015, at her home at Urania, and the body of Duncan was discovered the next day near Tullos.
