The Jena Giants played in the 1st round of the Class 3A football state playoffs this past Friday. The Giants entered the playoffs as the #3 ranked team after finishing the season with an undefeated record.

The Giants opponent for the 1st round was the #30 Westlake Rams from the Lake Charles area. The Giants were looking to pick up their 3rd straight first round playoff victory. The captains for the Giants were Lamar Farris, Chico Savage, Troy Dangerfield, and Shaun Todd. Westlake won the toss and elected to defer to the 2nd half.
