The Jena Lady Giants started district play this week. The Lady Giants would have one of the toughest starts in the district as they were scheduled to play the two teams that are favored to win the district in Caldwell and Avoyelles.

The Lady Giants would also have a tough start as they would have to play Caldwell on Tuesday without a couple of key players in Cat Bailey and Korlee Morphis who both were out with injuries. The Lady Giants would come in to the game with a record of 7-11 and were looking to start district play with a win. Caldwell would come into the game with a record of 14-7 and looking to start 1-0 in district.

Caldwell would take advantage of Jena being shorthanded as they would use a full court press defense to put pressure on the Lady Giants and force turnovers. Caldwell would start the game on a 22-0 run and would not look back from there as they would go on to win 48-17.
