I think our children today have lost a lot by not being taught how to “really enjoy” their summer vacation – the way we did when I was a kid. Or, am I just living in the past.

When I was growing up and school let out for the summer, we couldn’t wait to get to the nearest fishing hole, build log trucks from old pieces of wood using jar lids as wheels, making roads in the dirt, building hide-outs in the woods near our home.
