Julia Mae “Granny” Powell, 90, of Rosefield, passed from this life on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at the Ouachita Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Monroe. She was born August 17, 1927 in Rosefield to the union of her parents, A. J. Ainsworth, Sr. and Julia Currington Ainsworth. Mrs. Powell was a member of Rosefield Baptist Church. She was a great cook and loved her family very much. She was always a joy to be around. Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 14, at Rosefield Baptist Church with the Revs. Bubba Tucker and Ricky Gresham officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Powell; her parents; brother, A. J. “Pete” Ainsworth, Jr.; sister, Berta Faye Esters; grandsons, Phillip Allen Powell and Joshua Robert Powell. Survivors include her sons, James W. Powell and wife Cheryl, Jonathan A. Powell and wife Noreen, Phillip A. Powell and wife Anita, and Roger T. Powell and wife Lynn; grandchildren, Jason Powell, Jennifer Powell, Sheranne Powell-Hoppauir, Tyler Powell, Jessica Frizzell, and Damion Powell; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jonathan Powell, Phillip Powell, Todd Frizzell, Tyler Powell, Damion Powell, and Todd Ainsworth
