Jury convicts man on 3 distribution charges

A 60-year-old Jena man was convicted by a jury on three counts of distribution of methamphetamine following a trial in 28th Judicial District Court last week, according to LaSalle District Attorney J. Reed Walters.

Walters said this was the first case to go to trial stemming from Operation Deaf Ear conducted by the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office last year. Assistant District Attorney Steve Kendrick presented the case to the jury for the State.
