Entire JHS football team trained in CPR

-First in the state-

American Heart Association’s Youth Market Director and CPR Instructor Jill Lucero takes her job of training youth in CPR very seriously. Why? Because she knows by personal experience the difference it makes.

“When my son was 15 years old he collapsed at soccer practice and went into cardiac arrest,” Lucero said. “Because someone was there that knew CPR my son lived and now is 22 years old.”

As part of her job with AHA, she travels all over northeast, northwest, and central Louisiana, covering over 25 parishes, training teachers, students, coaches and more in CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and the use of AED (automated external defibrillator) machines.
