Iris Evelene Cannaday of Harrisonburg was received into Heaven on Saturday, September 1, 2018. Mrs. Cannaday was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrisonburg. She was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed outdoors and gardening in her spare time. A private graveside service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, in the Harrisonburg Cemetery. Arrangements were under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Loyd Cruse and Beulah M. Ainsworth Cruse; and one brother, Cleon Cruse. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss are daughters, Bernie Cannaday Hawkins and husband John, and Nona Cannaday Mills and husband James; one sister, Vera D Poole; one brother, Kenneth Cruse; three grandchildren, Brandon Mills, Jaimie Trisler, and Malloy Hawkins, and two great grandchildren.
