LaSalle Library’s Summer Reading Program

Those attending the LaSalle Parish Library’s Summer Reading Program, which kicked off last Friday with Author and Cartoonist Mike Artell and his creative presentation of drawing cartoons at the brand new LaSalle Parish Library in Jena, are shown drawing along with Artell. Artell’s visit was the first official event at the new library, which opened last month. The Friday program was provided in collaboration with the McKinney-Vento Foundation. On Friday (June 11), Ariane Trammell from the small town of Ponchatoula will be present at 10 a.m. at the LaSalle Parish Library in Jena and at 2 p.m. at the library in Olla. She is an artist, children’s book author and illustrator. Her beautiful books include Where the Grass is Always Greener, Run! Boudin, Run!, Cicada’s Song and Couillon the Crawfish. She is also a talented musician and storyteller with a delightful personality! For more information, visit www.arianesart.com
