Photo of the Week…
This time of year (May) you can’t help noticing the many elderberry trees that frequent central Louisiana. They’re everywhere!!! Their large white flowers can be seen in most open areas. They don’t seem to be very site specific. I have seen them in just about any and every environment except swampy areas. The flowers turn into purple berries that birds love. I have a few elderberry trees in my back yard and love to watch the mocking birds guard them with their lives. Other birds eat them too if they can get past the mocking birds.
