Stimulus Checks Could Change Survivors’ Lives – Victim Advocates Say Some Abusers Withheld Them

Survivors of domestic violence often use cash as a means to gain safety and independence, but some found themselves deprived of a financial lifeline, knowing that their abuser has all of the stimulus check. An opportunity to financially ease the burdens they faced in remaining safe and secure economically was lost.
