For over 50 years, I have been friends with Jimmie Ray (aka Jiggs) Newsom. Jiggs grew up in the Sikes community in Winn Parish. I got to know him in the 1960s when he lived in Urania with his aunt and uncle, Rush and Annie Belle Parker. Rush was the postmaster in Urania at the time.
