Baptist encampment held on Castor Creek for many years
Judge W. H. Mills, writing in the September 12, 1929, Jena Times, told of tentative plans being made to “locate the North-east Louisiana Baptist Encampment at the Castor Sulphur Springs two miles west of Olla.” According to Judge Mills, B. E. Zeagler of Olla had offered the land free of charge to the Baptists to build a permanent encampment.
