As I sat at the kitchen bar tonight, I gazed down at the bowl of potato soup and cornbread I was having for supper. I began to think about my mother. Potato soup and cornbread was a meal that we ate a lot. I know many people have their “We were so poor…….” and you could finish the phrase.
