La. pulls out of National School Boards Association

The recent national controversy involving the National School Boards Association (NSBA) led the Louisiana School Boards Association (LSBA) to remove their membership with the national organization. The controversy centered around the NSBA sending a letter to United States Attorney General Merrick Garland September 29, stating that some parents’ “heinous actions could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.” The letter prompted a forceful response from Attorney General Merrick Garland who in turn issued a memo on October 4 that directed the FBI to “address threats against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff, and will open dedicated lines of communication for threat reporting, assessment, and response.” The NSBA letter and Garland’s Oct.
