Stop the press: CDC admits it’s wrong

Writing a weekly editorial can be challenging at times. While some writers focus on one specific genre, say politics or sports, I try my best to alternate topics as to keep the interest of as many readers as possible.

Writing a weekly editorial can be challenging at times. While some writers focus on one specific genre, say politics or sports, I try my best to alternate topics as to keep the interest of as many readers as possible.

One week I may address hypocritical politicians and the next talk about my wife’s driving skills, which admittedly, one of those topics gets me in trouble more than the other.

The challenge for me each week is to not continually focus on the atrocities from our Washington D.C. elected officials and all their cronies that fill their bureaucratic positions to keep their ludicrous agenda rolling.

But with new revelations I feel as though I must have a “Part 2” to an editorial that I wrote in last week’s issue concerning the mortality rate of COVID-19.

Last week, I reported that according to the official COVID-19 numbers issued from the US national reporting center, the COVID-19 mortality rate stood at 0.248% as of December 29, 2021, with a survivability rate of 99.752%. A double-check of my numbers revealed I made a slight mistake in that the mortality rate as the percentage I was looking at was per total population and not per positive cases reported. The correct updated mortality percentage, as of January 12, 2022, is 1.35%, which makes the correct survivability rate to 98.65%. I apologize for the mistake, but still contend this is still a very high survivability rate.

In any event, after the editorial went to press early in the week, we learned that the CDC Director, Dr. Rochell Walensky, admitted there were reporting errors concerning COVID-19 numbers. This was a major revelation! What many have been saying all along was in fact true although at the time we were all labeled as conspiracy theorists.

The reporting errors had to do with the number of deaths reported as COVID-19 deaths. Here are Dr. Walensky’s own words:

“The overwhelming number of deaths – over 75% – occurred in people who had at least four comorbidities, so really these are people who were unwell to begin with,” she acknowledged during an interview with Good Morning America January 10.

She admitted to the world that this virus is not deadly for the overwhelming majority of people, aside from those who are elderly or very sick already, something we’ve been saying all along. We have always contended that extra precautions should be taken for the elderly and those with pre-existing, serious health issues but for the average, semi-healthy American, life should go on as normal.

Taking into account this new revelation, we can update our numbers:

As of January 12, the total USA deaths attributed to COVID since the pandemic started in the spring of 2020 stands at 842,141. If 75% of these died from the other health issues instead of COVID, then we can subtract 75% (631,605) from that number leaving us with a new total of 210,536.

What a huge difference! Taking that new death number with the total number of COVID-19 positive cases recorded (62,308,132) it brings our mortality rate down to just 0.0034%. This translates to a survivability rate for anyone with three or less serious health conditions to 99.996%. Americans have a greater chance of dying from the flu than COVID-19 (flu mortality rate is 0.1%).

Do we really understand the significance of this new revelation? We have literally shut down our entire economy, closed schools and lost valuable instruction time for our children, lost the opportunity to enjoy various events, activities, celebrations, etc., and implemented ridiculous mandates and restrictions including ludicrous vaccine mandates, all for a virus that has a 99.996% survival rate.

I honestly can’t believe they allowed Dr. Walensky to go on record with the revelation as so much of the liberal agenda depends upon keeping Americans living in fear.

Without American citizens’ fear of COVID, the political agendas in the massive restructuring of America with socialist ideals cannot move forward. Without Americans’ fear their chances of winning elections is decreased. Without Americans’ fear they will be unable to push through Congress their outlandish spending bills. Without Americans’ fear, they simply cannot control us the way they want to.

This wasn’t the only revelation from the CDC last week as we learned that hospitalizations regarding COVID were also reported wrong with the vast majority of those in the hospital with COVID are not actually there because of COVID. They have also admitted that cloth masks don’t work, the six feet distance thing is wrong, and they honestly have no idea on what to do with quarantines, as they have changed their position on this one more time.

Admittedly, I’m no doctor. I’m not an infectious disease expert and I didn’t even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. I’m just a simple newspaper man who can read data.

And that data shows we have no reason to live in fear.
