Danielle Willis, owner of Danielle’s Designs, was the club’s guest speaker who gave a history about herself, her family, her education, and her business. During her education at La. Tech for Interior Design, she realized she also liked architecture and construction. She started her business in 2009 and opened her first store in Jena in 2015 on Hwy. 127. In September 2020 she moved to the old Glen Drewett house – also renovated as The Cottage, on Hwy. 84.
Danielle’s Designs offers many goods and services including house plans and room designs, renovations and construction, and project management and budget planning.
Her store also offers custom lighting, draperies, blinds, custom bedding, furniture pieces and rugs. Danielle and her staff offer furniture painting and restoration and they also hang pictures and decorate for Christmas and other occasions. At the lunch meeting, Danielle demonstrated a table decoration and setting.
She and Bethany Troquille and Donna Benson invite everyone to visit them at the store. The store is located at 2714 East Oak St., Jena, La. and their phone number is 318-277-6994. For more information, see Danielle’s Design, LLC Facebook page.
Members of the Town and Country Garden Club thanked Danielle for spending some time with them at their meeting.
Also at the meeting a business meeting was conducted. President Judy Baker called the business meeting to order. Reports were given. Katherine has heard of two new breeds of Satsuma trees that can survive in cold temperatures. She will be checking further about ordering some of these trees. If you want to know more, please check with her.
Birthdays for the month were also recognized with this month’s recognition going to Sis Welch and Barbara Germany.
We note with sadness the passing of Nell Ezell Poston. She died December 25, 2021. She had been a member of our club and served as President the years 2012-2013. She was a talented and joyful person.
