Lady Giants blow out Caldwell in final week of district action

Jenaâs Tori Shirley (11) is all smiles on her way back to the dugout after scoring a run during the Lady Giantsâ blowout win over Caldwell last Tuesday, April 5, in Jena. The Lady Giants beat the Lady Spartans 14-4 and will begin the Class 3A playoffs next week in their quest to return to Sulphur and the state championship game. (See story.)

The Jena Lady Giants played their final two district games of the season this past week. It would be an important week for the Lady Giants as they came into the week ranked #18 in the power rankings just two spots away from the top 16 in which they would have a home playoff game in the first round of the class 3A state playoffs.
