Jena native Dr. James Boyd, author and retired Air Force Colonel, gave a presentation and did a book signing on April 9 at the LaSalle Parish Library in Jena for his debut novel, “On the Brink.” The novel is based on his experiences as an aircraft crew-chief, carpenter, Naval Flight Officer and Flight Surgeon. Dr. Boyd is a 1976 Jena High graduate and the son of Charles Boyd of Jena. He currently lives in Florida with his wife, Edwina.
