Lady Giants fight hard but come up short at Kaplan

The Jena Lady Giants started their title defense this past week as the Class 3A state playoffs began. The Lady Giants won the state championship last season and were looking to make another run to Sulphur. The Lady Giants would be the #14 seed in the playoffs and would play #19 Union Parish in the first round on Tuesday at home. This game would be all Lady Giants as they scored six runs in the first, eight in the second, and four in the third to win 18-3 in three innings.
