Foster Parent Recruiter Rebekah Galle

Foster Parent Recruiter Rebekah Galle with Methodist Foster Care addresses attendees at an informational meeting last week about Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) at Nolley Memorial United Methodist Church’s Palmer Hall in Jena. In 2020 alone, over 6,000 children were served in the foster care system in Louisiana with more than 250 being ages 18 to 21. Furthermore, well over 100 youth primarily aged 10-16 are in need of therapeutic foster care (TFC) across the state with additional home placement needed. Galle said one of the misconceptions of TFC is that families must have an affiliation with the Methodist church, which is not true. She said the criteria to become a TFC home is specific, but a particular denominational affiliation is not a requirement.
