I have here lately felt like the little man on the variety talent shows of yesteryear who would spin plates on these poles. The object was to get as many plates spinning as he could. Those of you who remember, he would get the plates spinning and then he would run back to the beginning and to keep the early ones going then he would run to the end and start another plate. He would do this until one of the plates ceased to spin at a fast enough rate and the man was unable to get back in time to save it. At this the plate would fall to the floor and break, thus ending the event.
