Local children watch intently as author/illustrator Ariane Trammell shows them how to draw one of the swamp creatures from her picture books last week in Olla as part of the LaSalle Parish Library’s Summer Reading Program at the LaSalle Parish Libraries in Jena and Olla. Trammell is from Ponchatoula and is an artist, storyteller, children’s book author and illustrator of books such as Where the Grass is Always Greener, Run! Boudin, Run!, Cicada’s Song and Couillon the Crawfish. The Friday program was provided in collaboration with the McKinney-Vento Foundation. (See more photos inside this edition.)
