Johnette Downing pretends to be a frog during her show in Olla for the LaSalle Parish Library’s Summer Reading Program at the LaSalle Parish Libraries in Jena and Olla. Known as the “Musical Ambassador for Children,” she is a New Orleans multi-award winning singer, musician, composer, author and poet presenting Louisiana Roots concerts and author visits for children across the world. The Friday programs and Wednesday program were provided in collaboration with the McKinney-Vento Foundation.
