More on PTSD and Supporting Our Veterans
Three women who are full-time caregivers to disabled combat veterans, shared their experiences. One describes, “He was shrieking with his eyes open. When I went to shake him, he grabbed my wrist and twisted it. I knew my wrist was broken and drove myself to the emergency room.” Another described how her husband shoved her down right after their son was born, ripping open the incision from her C-section. The third states that her husband would sometimes just “Go blank. “You could see he was not there.”
