Sydney Staples and Stacy Blomquist with Kistachie National Forest instruct local youth about how to determine the age of a tree during the Centennial Cultural Center’s recent summer camp that combined nature and literacy in downtown Olla. “We have had a wonderful and enlightening camp,” CCC Director Donna Lindsey said. “I know a literacy camp like this one has not been done before, but the camp provided instruction the kids can use for a lifetime and knowledge of the outdoors of where they live every day. I would like to thank everyone who helped make the camp a success.”
