Rising country music star to perform at The Strand

Louisiana native and rising country music star CJ Solar will perform at The Strand Theater in downtown Jena on Saturday, October 29 at 8 p.m. His performance in Jena is one of only two Louisiana shows on his touring line-up, which put him on stages across the South as well as on the Grand Ole Opry in August. Solar was named one of the “New Artists You Need To Know” by Rolling Stone Country and the MusicRow Independent Artist of the Year Award in 2019 and has won multiple awards for songwriting as well. He said the driving force behind his untimely success isn’t fame nor fortune – it’s just a diehard infatuation with the music he grew up on. Admission for the concert is $30 per person. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at RaeRae’s Gifts, Initially Blessed and The Cotton Boll. With the fuel of both Southern rock and country music influences pumping through his veins, it is no surprise that Solar is a natural at fusing the two worlds. Combine that with Delta blues, compliments of a childhood spent in Cajun country and he is an up-and-comer with the pure musical talent and vocal chops to back him up.
