Following a one-day trial last Monday, November 14, a LaSalle Parish Jury found Andre Price guilty of Aggravated Second Degree Battery, according to J. Reed Walters, LaSalle Parish District Attorney.
Following a one-day trial last Monday, November 14, a LaSalle Parish Jury found Andre Price guilty of Aggravated Second Degree Battery, according to J. Reed Walters, LaSalle Parish District Attorney.
Price had been charged in an incident that occurred on February 16, 2022 at the LaSalle Correctional Center near Urania, where Price was being held for Calcasieu Parish on a charge of Second Degree Murder.
Walters stated the case for the State was presented to the Jury by Assistant District Attorney Steven P. Kendrick. Kendrick selected the jury, presented the evidence and argued for the State.
Following the one-day trial, the jury took approximately 20 minutes to reach its verdict of guilty as charged.
Price, age 37, faces up to a maximum penalty of 15 years at hard labor. District Judge J. Christopher Peters presided over the trial and following the verdict, set sentencing for January 10, 2023.
