The Strand Village Project #thrive is offering a week-long free program in technology for youth in 5th to 12th grades each day of winter break from 2 to 5 p.m. on February 20-24 in Jena.
Students will learn to code using Python and also learn about the engineering design process. The camp is offered in conjunction with Cenla Stem Region 6 and will be held at CLTCC (Central Louisiana Technical Community College) – Rod Brady campus in Jena.
The instructor, Alejandra Lachance, has built a career around technology with years of experience in graphic design, video and more. The site coach will be Amanda Mason.
This community development project of LEDD (LaSalle Economic Development District) is funded in part by a Substance and Alcohol Abuse Program Prevention Grant from The Rapides Foundation and has two components: an after-school program for youth and the Strengthening Families Program, a fun family makeover for families with children ages 7 to 17.
