If you drive through the towns of Jena and Olla, you can’t help but notice a barber shop here or there. The shops are usually filled with people –specifically of the male gender - congregating to get a haircut. You get a sense of community just peering in the windows at the patrons and their expressions and the busy snipping of the local barber. These institutions past and present continue to provide much needed services for a wellgroomed appearance as well as a gathering place for people.
