Steven Dale “Stevie” Underwood, 68, of Olla passed from this life on February 21, 2023 at The Our Lady of Lords Hospital in Lafayette.
He was born on February 7, 1955 in Monroe to the union of his parents, Carl Dixon Underwood and Francille Gentry Underwood.
“Stevie” was quiet until you got him warmed up then he was ready to go. He was easy to get along with and joy to be around. He loved his family and always worked hard to provide for them. Stevie worked offshore and overseas for twenty years. He stopped doing that and started driving a skidder in the logging woods. Stevie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding back roads. He loved his coffee in the morning, but he was always watching the clock for “Beer-Thirty”. One of his favorite foods was a Sonic Sausage, Egg and Cheese Toaster, and you better not forget his mayo! He also liked cooking gumbo for everybody.
Services were held on Saturday, February 25, at 2:00 p.m. at the Riser & Son Funeral Home chapel in Olla with Bro. Josh McNaughton officiating.
Interment followed in the Sikes Cemetery at Sikes under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home.
